Visiting Assistant Professor of Gender Studies Jessica Willis and Assistant Professor of Fine Arts Mark Denaci have been selected to participate in the 2009 National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar, "Queer Theory Now and Then: Debates in Gender and Sexuality," led by Judith Halberstam, professor of English and gender studies at the University of Southern California.

The seminar takes place at SUNY Potsdam June 15 through July 10. Each year the National Endowment for the Humanities Faculty Development Program organizes an interdisciplinary summer seminar for scholars from the four associated colleges (SUNY Canton, SUNY Potsdam, Clarkson and St. Lawrence) who work in the humanities. Acceptance is by application and is typically limited to eight.

Performance and Communication Arts faculty members Traci Fordham and Zachary Dorsey have also been accepted for the seminar.
