A message from John and Marlissa Westerfield P'14
"At the suggestion of some good friends of ours, we joined the Parents Committee when our son, Artie '14, matriculated in the fall of 2010. Since then, we have had the chance to share in the St Lawrence community with him and have found the experience highly rewarding. Through the Parents Committee, we have had the chance to meet other parents and members of the faculty, as well as to get to know several members of the administration, including President Fox and his wife, Lynn. We’ve had the opportunity to learn firsthand what’s happening on campus and stay abreast of what’s ahead for the University. The result has been that we have felt much more connected to the University than we would have expected when our son went off to school.
SLU depends on members of the Parents Committee for both their financial generosity as well as intellectual support in terms of new ideas, expertise and connections. The Parents Committee is also a venue to voice your ideas and opinions. The Committee offers its members an easy way to access the faculty and administration at St. Lawrence. It is a unique venue through which to gain a closer understanding of your student’s college experience.
Laurentians have an unwavering love and support for their university and the Parents Committee has given us a chance to feel this firsthand. To those of you who have already joined the Parents Committee, THANK YOU. And to those who are not yet on the Committee, we hope you will join us!"
