St. Lawrence University seeks to fill an Assistant Director for the Peterson Quantitative Resource Center. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable work experience and continue education in a graduate program at St. Lawrence. This is a two-year, part-time position starting in July 2014. The primary function of the person in this position is to assist the faculty director in managing the day-to-day workflow of the center. Responsibilities include hire, train, and supervise student mentors; oversee student committees and project teams and manage the public relations and technology components of the center (website, email listservs, electronic sign-in/evaluation system, Facebook page, Twitter, SLUWire, events/announcements, brochures, posters); create materials and lead workshops; develop new interaction models for use of the center by students, faculty, and staff; one-on-one tutorials with coursework ranging from pre-calculus to advanced mathematics theory.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is required with extensive coursework in the mathematical sciences. The Assistant Director is expected to work 15-20 hours per week at the PQRC during the academic year. Benefits include student health insurance and reimbursement for up to six courses at St. Lawrence per year.
