Performance Evaluations
Performance evaluations are an important part of the process of communication for all employees. A periodic evaluation is an opportunity for the supervisor to provide well-earned recognition, for an employee to gain clarification on professional goals and department objectives, for needed improvements to be identified, and professional development plans to be made.
All exempt and hourly staff at St. Lawrence University should receive a performance evaluation annually. The process used for exempt staff is the 360 Performance Review Process. Hourly staff are evaluated using processes and forms developed by each department (see "Notes" and samples below).
