Policies

The Special Assistant to the President for Equity Programs/Associate Vice President for Human Resources (Vilas G-1) monitors all faculty and professional staff hiring and serves as the University’s Affirmative Action Officer. The Special Assistant is also responsible for policies regarding harassment and discrimination for all students, employees, visitors or other stake-holders of SLU. The Special Assistant to the President for Equity Programs is also the university's Age Act, Title IX, and Section 504 (of the Rehabilitation Act) coordinator.

EQUITY POLICIES
Procedures for responding to instances of harassment or discrimination may be specific to an individual's category at the university, i.e. as a member of the faculty, staff, or student body.  Procedures applicable to members of the faculty are included in the Faculty Handbook and procedures applicable to students are in the Student Handbook.  Staff should contact the the Special Assistant for Equity Programs (Vilas G1) for information about procedures.

RETALIATION

Retaliation is an important issue regarding discrimination and harassment. The SLU policies prohibit retaliation which should be reported just as discrimination and harassment would be reported.
