
SAINTS FOURTH IN LIBERTY LEAGUE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
St. Lawrence University’s men’s golf team had three All Liberty League golfers and freshman Ren O’Connor shared Rookie of the Year honors, but the Saints had to settle for a fourth place finish in the six-team Liberty League Championships at the Saratoga Spa State Park course Saturday and Sunday.
Junior Ben Von Reyn shot an even par total of 144, going 71-73 to finish tied for fourth while L.B. Haney shot one over 73 on Saturday and came back with an even par 72 on Sunday to finish tied for sixth at 145 to earn all league honors. O’Connor shot 76-73 for a 149 total and tied for ninth, sharing the low freshman total with RPI’s Matt Lussier to earn co-Rookie of the Year honors.
Pete Harriman was the fourth Saint golfer in the field, shooting two rounds of 77 for a 154 total and a tie for 24th while freshman David Bushing shot 78-79-157 and was 30th.
Skidmore won its second straight league championship with rounds of 282 and 290 for a four-under 572 team total, counting the best four of five scores each day. Rochester was 17 strokes back at 489 with Clarkson third at 591 and the Saints fourth at 592. RPI was fifth with a 610 total and Hobart finished sixth at 631.
