Charter Day at
St. Lawrence University included student research presentations,
songs from "then and "now" and a punch-and-cupcakes party.

President Daniel F. Sullivan opened the event with welcome remarks.

Adam Casler '06 gave a presentation on higher education history,
the
context of the founding of the University.

Steve Peraza '06 talked about his research on human rights
activist Jeffrey Campbell'33.

Katherine Gay'06 presented her research on the North Country perspective on
the founding of the University.

Barry Torres led the Laurentian Parlor Singers on songs from
"then" and now"

The Laurentian Parlor Singers were eight students who assembled
just for the Charter Day event.

"Sucking Cider through a straw" was an old favorite,
rarely heard today, that the Laurentian Parlor Singers brought back to life.

At the birthday reception, guests brought cards or signed one
of the oversize cards provided by the University.
