It's Gold!! SLU's Johnson Hall Of Science Awarded LEED Gold Certification
We have the first Gold building on a college in NYS

St. Lawrence University's Johnson Hall of Science, dedicated in the fall of 2007, has been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The $36.9-million, 115,000-square-foot building is the first Gold-certified building on any college campus in New York State and the first science facility in the state to achieve the Gold certification. Across the nation, only 361 projects have been certified Gold; 21 of those projects are higher education facilities.For more

Saints Athletics
The women's hockey team stretched No. 1 nationally ranked Harvard to overtime in the ECAC Finals Sunday, but dropped a 3-2 decision. The Saints earned the sixth seed in the NCAA Tournament will travel to No. 3 New Hampshire for a quarterfinal game Saturday at 1 p.m. Men's hockey saw its season end in the first round of the ECAC playoffs, dropping two of three games at Colgate. Women's basketball won its first NCAA Tournament game over William Patterson, but lost 64-49 to the No. 4 ranked Messiah in the second round. Men's track rode a pair of school records to the ECAC Indoor title, while the women placed 11th.

If you were here in 2005-2006, you participated in St. Lawrence University's 150th anniversary celebration. We've maintained the Sesquicentennial Web site as our Traditions site, and it has features such as This Month in SLU History, Campus Traditions, Then & Now Photo galleries, and Fun Facts (Did You Know that The Thelomathesian Society, the current student government organization, began in 1863 as a debating club. The name comes from the Greek for love of knowledge and desire to learn. ) Check it out and become an expert on SLU!

: Keep up with Jessica Sullivan as she blogs from campus: Here's a sample: Ever since my first year at St. Lawrence, I have wanted to go ice skating on the canal in Ottawa. Due to going abroad, inclement weather, hectic schedules, etc, I was not able to realize this dream until recently. This past weekend, two of my friends and I finally made the short drive up north to go skating on "la plus grande patinoire du monde". And it was incredible. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining...and after skating for 14 kilometers, my legs were burning like crazy. I really don't know how figure skaters and hockey players do it! Hopefully my first experience on the canal won't be my last.... Read more!
