Saranac Lake Spanish Teacher Awarded Fellowship By St. Lawrence
Trisha A. Wickwire, a high school Spanish teacher at Saranac Lake Central School, has been awarded a fellowship by
St. Lawrence University that will allow her to study in Peru during the summer.

Summer Internship Fellowships Awarded To 28 Students
The American Council on Education, NBC, Weitzman Science Institute, Dartmouth Medical School and the New York Rangers are among the diverse placements for St. Lawrence summer internships. Twenty-eight students have been awarded internship fellowships for the summer of 2009, allowing them to pursue career opportunities in a variety of fields. The fellowships are awarded through the Career Services office.

The Chronicle of Higher Education published a letter to the editor from President Daniel Sullivan in its May 29 issue, headlined "Monitor Net Tuition, Not Sticker Price." The letter outlined President Sullivan's thoughts on an interview The Chronicle had published online with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
Associate Professor of Biology Karl McKnight is quoted in an article titled "Garden of Earthly Delights," about foraging for mushrooms in the Adirondacks, in Adirondack Life magazine's "2009 Annual Guide to the Great Outdoors." McKnight is a former director of the University's Adirondack Semester.

Saints Sports Highlights
The Saints women's crew team competed in the NCAA Rowing Championships this weekend in Camden, NJ and the varsity eight boat finished second in the Division III Petite Final. The JV boat was third in the third Final race. The men's team won the Liberty League Novice Crew of the Year award. Willi Steinrotter has been named head alpine coach for the St. Lawrence program.

Helicopter Video View of the North Country!

St. Lawrence collaborated with several regional institutions to commission a helicopter video of the North Country. Enjoy the video tour that begins with a bird's eye view of our varsity crew team practicing on the St. Lawrence river, then shares the Thousands Islands region, Canton, the St. Lawrence campus, the foothills of the Adirondacks, Canaras and the Upper Saranac Lake region.

The Spring issue of the St. Lawrence magazine is entitled The Chronicle of a Legacy, and features highlights of the ways
