St. Lawrence welcomes William L. Fox '75 as 18th President

St. Lawrence Joins With Other N.Y. Colleges To Pursue Collaborations
St. Lawrence has joined with five other liberal arts institutions in New York, forming a consortium to begin collaborative work with the goals of controlling business costs and learning from each other's experience in areas of student life and staff development.

Trustee Elinor Tatum '93 Receives Award From Pi Beta Phi
St. Lawrence Trustee Elinor Tatum '93 received a Member of Distinction Award at the Pi Beta Phi fraternity's annual convention, held recently in Texas. The organization states that the award is "presented to highly accomplished members."

North Country Public Radio Wins Two National Broadcast Awards
North Country Public Radio's news team was honored with two 2009 National Edward R. Murrow Awards recently by The Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA). NCPR's series The Impact of War at Home won in the continuing coverage category and Native Americans in Baseball's Present and Past won for best sports reporting. Both entries received regional Murrow awards in April, as well as top honors from Public Radio News Directors, Inc. (PRNDI) in June.

Web Site NEW Features, Updates, and Reminders

SLU Media Room
: We've collected up and created a central location for all St. Lawrence videos! Now you can visit our Media Room to see past Student Views Videos by Chelsea Nuffer '10, the SLU helicopter video and any other videos we create over the next months.

This week, Chelsea talks to several faculty members about their summer projects, research and creative work. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in, this video is about 15 minutes of fascinating discussions...and a special video-within-a-video! Go directly to Chelsea's new video.
Last week, Chelsea visited downtown Canton to interview vendors and shoppers at the famous Farmer's Market, retail shops owners and a group of youngsters enjoying an ice cream break during their last week of school.

New Summer Blog:
Alex Fisher '10, a physics major, is doing research in Paris, France, "Optics in the City of Light," through a summer undergraduate project with the University of Michigan. Visit Paris and learn more about Alex's summer research!

Helicopter Video View of the North Country!

St. Lawrence collaborated with several regional institutions to commission a helicopter video of the North Country. Enjoy the video tour that begins with a bird's eye view of our varsity crew team practicing on the St. Lawrence river, then shares the Thousands Islands region, Canton, the St. Lawrence campus, the foothills of the Adirondacks, Canaras and the Upper Saranac Lake region.
