For the eighth straight year, education is the top career field choice reported by alumni of St. Lawrence University one year after graduation. It has been in the top five fields for the past decade.

Prof. Hornung Receives Award From Program In Denmark
Dana Professor of Biology David Hornung received a Certificate of Appreciation at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS) International Educators Conference, held in June in Copenhagen. Hornung was recognized for his role in developing the course Human Health and Disease: A Clinical Approach, one of the most popular programs at DIS, which is celebrating its 50th year.

Robert Montgomery '82 Leads 'Domino' 16-Patient Kidney Transplant
Robert Montgomery '82, director of the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center, led the first 16-patient multicenter "domino donor" kidney transplant and was subsequently the subject of a variety of national news reports about the feat.

Johnson Associate Professor of Economics Brian Chezum was quoted in a July 10 Associated Press story marking the 50th anniversary of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Also quoted in the story was Claire Puccia Parham '90, author of a book on the Seaway.

: We've collected up and created a central location for all St. Lawrence videos! Now you can visit our Media Room to see past Student Views Videos by Chelsea Nuffer '10, the SLU helicopter video and any other videos we create over the next months.

This week, Chelsea interviews alumni who discuss the value of their liberal arts education. You'll hear a lot of comments about learning to learn, creating a passion for learning and having lots of opportunities to explore many interest areas. Go directly to Chelsea's new video.
Last week, Chelsea talked to several faculty members about their summer projects, research and creative work. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in, this video is about 15 minutes of fascinating discussions...and a special video-within-a-video!

St. Lawrence collaborated with several regional institutions to commission a helicopter video of the North Country. Enjoy the video tour that begins with a bird's eye view of our varsity crew team practicing on the St. Lawrence river, then shares the Thousands Islands region, Canton, the St. Lawrence campus, the foothills of the Adirondacks, Canaras and the Upper Saranac Lake region.
