Three Students Join Earth Sciences Honor Society
Sigma Gamma Epsilon, the Earth science honor society at St. Lawrence, recently elected three new members. Ashley Robin '12, Molly Patterson '12 and Peter Christoffersen '13 were welcomed to the organization in the fall 2010 semester.

James Bessette '73 Wins Professionalism Award From NYS Bar Association
James P. Bessette '73, of Malone, has been awarded the New York State Bar Association award for attorney professionalism, from the organization's Committee on Attorney Professionalism. He is a partner in the Malone firm Fischer, Bessette, Muldowney & Hunter LLP.

Director of Admissions Alison Almasian was quoted in an online story on the U.S. News & World Report Web site December 15, 2010, on early decision.
St. Lawrence ranked 19th on's December 15, 2010 list of colleges that are best for women and minorities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Men's Hockey Ends Semester With Victory
Men's hockey
finished off an up-and-down first semester with a 6-4 victory over Vermont Saturday at Appleton Arena. The Saints, 4-8-3 overall, play next on January 2 at New Hampshire, the beginning of eight straight road games to start the second semester. Eight student athletes were honored by the Liberty League for their performances during the previous week, in women's basketball and men's and womens track and field. A number of players and coaches from fall teams were honored for their season performance recently. Defensive back Trevor Saunders '12 was named to the All-East region football team. The men's soccer squad had two national All-Americans, Brendan Gorman '12 and Sam DeMello '13. Coach Bob Durocher was honored as the East region Coach of the Year.
