SLU To Host Fulbright Scholar In Residence & Teaching Assistant
St. Lawrence University will host a Fulbright Scholar in Residence from Sri Lanka and a Fulbright Teaching Assistant in Chinese language for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Assistant Professor of History Howard Eissenstat was quoted in a July 31 Associated Press story about the Turkish military.
Dana Professor of Economics Steven Horwitz is the author of an opinion piece titled "Demise of Borders Shows that Being Big Isn't Enough," published in the Buffalo News on July 27. A column by Horwitz in the Freeman online, published July 28, reflects on "The Calling of Teaching." The column was also cited in the National Review online.
Thelomathesian Society President Robby Glass '13 participated in a conference call with other college student leaders on July 26, urging the federal government to resolve differences and approve a budget deal. President Obama participated in the call and the Watertown Daily Times and Syracuse Post Standard both ran stories July 27 about Glass' participation.

Carvel '93 Named Men's Hockey Assistant Coach
Former St. Lawrence University hockey captain Greg Carvel, a Canton native, has been appointed assistant men's hockey coach at his alma mater, completing the Saint staff after the departure of Bob Prier to become head coach at Princeton University.
