SLU's Brush Gallery Hosting Two Exhibitions Related To US Wars
The Richard F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University will host exhibitions beginning January 23 that present diverse perspectives on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Visiting Assistant Professor of English Jill Talbot is the author of a January 5 Brevity Blog post, on the website of the literary journal Brevity, detailing the assignment students in one of her classes had, to interview essayist Ryan Van Meter, author of If You Knew Then What I Know Now, named New York Magazine's best book of 2011. The Q-and-A article will also appear in the next issue of the print edition of Brevity.
Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Jeff Rickey is the author of a December 16 post on the higher education blog CollegeXpress, with advice on how to get the most out of a campus visit.

Women's Hockey Sweeps Ranked Foes
Women's hockey has a four-game winning streak, beating No. 4-ranked Boston College 2-1 and No. 7-ranked Northeastern 3-2 in non-league road games. Men's hockey played a pair of non-league games against Minnesota State at Appleton Arena, winning 4-3 Friday and losing 3-1 Saturday. Those games followed a pair of ties at the Dartmouth Tournament, 6-6 vs. Merrimack and 2-2 vs. the host team. The Saints won the tournament title by winning shootout competitons after both games. Men's basketball is 2-1 since the break, losing 84-77 to Brockport and then opening the LIberty League schedule with wins over Union (69-54) and RPI (76-69). Women's basketball is 3-0 since the first of the year with a 71-49 win over SUNY Potsdam and a sweep of Liberty League foes, 64-52 over Union and 76-58 over RPI.
