Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will return to the place it all started 10 years ago - St. Lawrence University in Canton - for an anniversary show as part of their 2013 Roar Tour.

Study Shows St. Lawrence University Has $262 Million Economic Impact On Region
A new study shows that the economic impact of St. Lawrence University on the region is over $262 million. The total combined impact of the region's three private higher education institutions - St. Lawrence, Clarkson University and Paul Smiths College - is $593.5 million.

St. Lawrence University Receives Grant for Community Partnerships
St. Lawrence University has received a grant of $25,000 from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation to support the community partnership component of its Sustainability Semester, which launches in the spring 2013 semester. Similar to the highly successful Adirondack Semester, students in the Sustainability Semester will live and take courses together that address themes of human sustainability such as land and water use and food production from a variety of disciplines and perspectives. The program will be located near the St. Lawrence campus on farm property owned by the Cornell Cooperative Extension and leased by the University.

November Noon Organ Recital At SLU Features Work Of French Composer
The noon organ recital at St. Lawrence University on Friday, November 30, features the music of Charles-Marie Widor (1844-1937). The event is open to the public, free of charge, and those in attendance are encouraged to bring lunch.

Men's Squash Drops One-Point Decision in Liberty League Title Game
The St. Lawrence men's squash team, ranked 11th in the country, dropped a tough 5-4 decision to No. 5 Rochester in the Liberty League Championships title match Sunday. The Saints had breezed through the preliminaries of the event, beating Bard, Hobart and Vassar 9-0. Women's squash improved to 4-0 on the season by beating William Smith, Rochester and Vassar. Women's cross country placed seventh at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday. The men's cross country squad was 27th. Women's hockey had a busy weekend, beating Princeton 6-2 Friday, dropping a tough 6-4 decision at Qunnipiac Saturday and then playing to a 2-2 tie with UConn Sunday. Men's hockey played Princeton to a 3-3 tie at Appleton Arena Friday before dropping a 6-2 decision to Quinnipiac Saturday. Women's basketball opened its season by claiming the consolation game, 80-77 over St. John Fisher, in the Chuck Resler Tournament in Rochester. The Saints lost 79-55 to Rochester. Men's basketball dropped both of its games in the same tournament, 61-47 to Mount St. Mary and 71-69 to the Merchant Marine Academy.
