Mathematician Family, Including Two SLU Profs & One Alum, Write Textbook
Statistically, it is improbable that an entire family of five would write a textbook together and get it published. Maybe that's why the Lock family, including Cummings Professor of Mathematics Patti Frazer Lock and Burry Professor of Statistics Robin Lock, were so determined to make it happen. The Locks, along with all three children - Kari Lock Morgan, Eric Lock and Dennis Lock '08 - are the authors of the text Statistics: Unlocking the Power of Data, published by Wiley.
Laurentian Singers Performing Christmas Concerts On Campus & At Edwards Opera House
The Laurentian Singers' 13th Annual Christmas Concert and Carol Sing will take place on Friday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Edwards Opera House, and Saturday, December 8, at 2 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel on campus. Tickets, at $6 each, will be available at the door for the Edwards Opera House concert; the campus concert is free of charge.
Noontime Recital At St. Lawrence Offers Music For Christmas
The noon-hour recital at St. Lawrence University on Friday, December 7, will feature music for Christmas. The event begins at 12:15 p.m. and is free of charge. The audience is encouraged to bring a lunch to enjoy while listening.
St. Lawrence University Candlelight Service December 12
The 91st Annual Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols will be held in Gunnison Memorial Chapel at St. Lawrence University on Wednesday, December 12, at 7 and 9 p.m.

Joe Marsh Tribute Video Available Online
A video commemorating the career of retired head men's hockey coach Joe Marsh is now online. The video, "A Lasting Legacy," was produced by the video department of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pete McGeough '88, Ray
Shero '84 and Scott Lasky '05. Narrated by Tom Brokaw, its initial showing was part of a tribute to Coach Marsh held in November.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Canadian Studies Neil Forkey was interviewed by the Network in Canadian History and Environment for a November 27 podcast about his book, Canadians and the Natural Environment to the Twenty-First Century.

Men's Basketball Sweeps Weekend
The St. Lawrence men's basketball team recorded its first two wins of the season, 62-50 over Elmira and 70-58 over SUNY Canton last weekend. Earlier in the week, the Saints lost 84-68 to Plattsburgh. Women's basketball beat Elmira 79-63 after losing to Plattsburgh, 71-49, and Ithaca, 65-64. Men's hockey split a weekend road series, downing Colgate 4-2 Friday and losing at Cornell 3-1 Saturday. Women's hockey did the same with a 4-3 win over Colgate and a 4-2 loss to No. 3 Cornell. Casey
Abribat '14 won the 400 individual medley and Sammi Moffit '15 won the 200 back to pace the women's swimming and diving team to a third-place finish at the Liberty League Championships. Men's swimming and diving placed eighth. Men's squash lost both of its matches, 6-3 to No. 7 Franklin and Marshall and 5-4 to No. 8 Dartmouth, at the Dartmouth Fall Classic.
