| SLU Professor, Graduate Pen New Guide Book on Northeast Mosses Associate Professor of Biology Karl McKnight; Warren Perdrizet, Class of 2011; and Kristen McKnight Ward, who studied at St. Lawrence for a year, have released Common Mosses of the Northeast and Appalachians. Princeton University Press recently published the book, also written by Joseph Rohrer. Full Story |

| SLU Project Receives $20,000 Grant The New York Power Authority St. Lawrence River Research and Education Board has awarded a $20,000 grant to Associate Professor of Biology Erika Barthelmess and Nature Up North Project Manager Erin Siracusa, Class of 2012, for their project, “Nature Up North: Using the Internet and citizen-based science to understand and protect the St. Lawrence River watershed in Northern New York.” Full Story |
| Japanese-Style Art to be Featured in SLU's Brush Gallery An exhibition called “Mokuhanga Prints: Riding the Great Wave,” will be in St. Lawrence University's Richard F. Brush Art Gallery from March 18 through April 16. It is open to the public, free of charge. Yoonmi Nam, associate professor of visual art at the University of Kansas, will give a lecture in conjunction with the exhibition, on Monday, March 25, at 7 p.m. in Room 123 of the Griffiths Arts Center. The women’s lacrosse team was undefeated in West Palm Beach, taking wins from Ohio Wesleyan (20-9), Keene State (11-6) and Becker (18-2). The men’s ice hockey team lost to Yale 6-1 on Friday and 3-0 on Saturday in the ECAC Quarterfinals, a best-of-three series. The baseball team went 4-1 last week, falling to Salem State 10-8 but defeating Pitt-Bradford (16-0), St. Joseph’s (5-0), Westminster (3-1) and Monmouth (9-7) to end their spring break trip and return to Canton with a 5-3 overall record. Softball split its week in Clermont, Florida, winning against Westfield State (4-1), Franciscan (16-1, 4-3), University of Texas-Dallas (6-5), but falling to Wesleyan (9-1), Simmons (8-0), Hood (10-0) and Lawrence (2-0). The men’s and women’s tennis teams traveled to Orlando, Florida for spring break; the men fell to The College of New Jersey (8-1), but defeated Roger Williams (7-2) and Albion (8-1). | St. Lawrence Cracks Top 25 in Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings St. Lawrence University is ranked in the top 25 of the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings after the first round of winter totals. The Saints are 23rd out of the 219 teams that have earned points during NCAA competition, and are the top-ranked Liberty League institution. Full Story |
