Gwendolyn Saul is an ethnographer and cultural anthropologist interested in creative and innovative ways to implement critical Indigenous theory in museum spaces and practices. Her research and scholarship have focused on oral histories, museum studies, contemporary Indigenous art, and critical Indigenous theory.
Currently, she is developing new research and projects that build upon her collaborative experiences with Indigenous artists and community members to address ideas and topics of central importance to Indigenous community members in New York.
Gwendolyn Saul's lecture is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Each One Inspired: Haudenosaunee Art across the Homelands from the New York State Museum, on display at the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery from October 17 to December 10, 2022.
