Chemistry Stockroom Assistant
Work hours: Monday through Friday, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: Johnson 328
Reports to: Suna Stone-McMasters, Chemical Hygiene Officer
Job duties:
- Completing the physical and electronic chemical inventory in the Chemistry Department.
- Helping students and staff find supplies.
- Keeping laboratory glassware and supplies stocked, clean and organized.
- Testing safety equipment in Chemistry Department laboratories.
- Compiling collections of Chemical Safety Data Sheets.
- Preparing reagents and equipment for upcoming teaching labs and classroom demonstrations.
- Preparing reagents in a safe, accurate manner.
- Other duties as agreed upon.

Minimum qualifications:
- Successful completion of High School Chemistry class with lab
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to differentiate chemical names
- Respect for the high level of trust and security required to operate a chemical stockroom
Preferred Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Experience working with the public (waitressing, retail sales, etc.)
- Experience working in a laboratory
- Experience with spreadsheets
