The SLU String Orchestra & Friends are excited to present their twentieth-anniversary concert, Musicians’ Choice Concert: Celebrating 20 Years! which features a diverse assortment of orchestral musical stylings from Classical, Celtic, Pop, and Film Scores, all selected by participating orchestra musicians from twenty years of past concert programs. This eclectic concert, under the direction of Christian Hosmer, will have something for everyone, including pop music arrangements from ABBA, The Beatles, and Queen, to great film score selections from Legends of the Fall, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, and Titanic! The concert runs approximately 90 minutes. The 35 members of the string orchestra from St. Lawrence University are joined by additional students and professional musicians from Canton, Potsdam, Norwood, Massena, Gouverneur, Antwerp, Philadelphia, and Watertown to comprise a full symphonic orchestra of over 60 players!
The event is free, open to the public, and in-person. Donations are welcome at the location.
Please join them again for their performances on Saturday, April 13, at 7:00 pm in Pickens Hall, Heuvelton, and on Sunday, April 14, at 4:00 pm in Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall in the Griffiths Arts Center on St. Lawrence University campus in Canton.
