ISEP
The International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) is a network of over 300 colleges and universities in 50 countries cooperating to provide access to international education for a diverse student population. ISEP students gain intercultural competence through integration into their host institution and host culture while exploring the international dimensions of their academic field.

- Fall or Spring semester; or academic year
- Pre-requisites: minimum GPA 3.25 to apply
- Interested students must meet with the ISEP coordinator in CIIS before submitting their application.
- Enrollment caps may be limited to less than 15 per semester based on space/exchange limitations
- Some programs may have courses taught in English
- Housing varies by program site
PLEASE NOTE: Students must complete an application for St. Lawrence University by February 1st and an application directly to the ISEP program before the deadline stated on their website. If you are applying to an ISEP Exchange program in the Fall semester, please check with CIIS about the deadline for your specific university. Deadlines may vary and can be early.

Location
International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) offers programs in 50 countries. Qualified St. Lawrence students may study at any ISEP international member institution.

Academics
When you apply to ISEP, you will list the classes you wish to take after reviewing the courses offered to ISEP students at the host institution. Once you've been accepted to the program, you will follow the procedures at St. Lawrence to secure transfer credit approval prior to your departure. After you return, ISEP will send an official transcript to St. Lawrence and the credits and grades will be transferred to St. Lawrence and appear on your transcript. Students are permitted to take any course available to ISEP students at the host site, provided that the appropriate pre-requisites have been completed and that the student has obtained pre-approval for the course from the appropriate SLU department chair.
All students must enroll in a full course of study; 15 credit hours or the equivalent.
Co-curricular
The co-curricular options available to students depend on the location. Students will generally have access to all of the activities, clubs and other extra-curricular offerings of their host institution.
Housing
Each ISEP university has varying options. You may have a room in a residence hall or with a family or an apartment shared with other students. If your ISEP institution offers a homestay option, you are strongly encouraged to choose this option. Some ISEP-Direct programs do not include housing; please see the specific description for details. If this is the case for your program, you will be provided a stipend to pay for housing but will need to secure it for yourself.

Orientation
CIIS will provide a pre-departure orientation to help you prepare for studying abroad.
Upon arrival, the host institution will provide an orientation, and the local ISEP Coordinator will serve as a resource throughout your stay.
