UAT Workshop 2016

The ninth NSF-sponsored Undergraduate ALFALFA Workshop was held at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Green Bank, West Virginia on June 13 - 17, 2016. The Workshop is part of the NSF-sponsored Undergraduate ALFALFA Team program to promote undergraduate research within the ALFALFA project. Attendees work together on group projects, and are given tours of the radio telescopes at the observatory, including the Robert C. Byrd Green Bank Telescope (GBT), the world's largest fully steerable single aperture antenna. The workshop was attended by 19 students and their faculty mentors from 13 undergraduate institutions. SLU astronomer Dr. Aileen O'Donoghue was accompanied by her summer research student, Laura Hunter '17, an astronomy & physics major from Mount Holyoke College
