Favorite thing about SLU: It’s hard to pinpoint one thing, but it really comes down to the combination of people and place. Laurentians are incredibly passionate and supportive, and our location certainly encourages a sense of togetherness. At the same time, our location tempts us to seek adventure beyond campus, be it a trip into the Adirondacks, an off-campus semester program, or time connecting with our alumni network.

Favorite spot in the North Country: Any place where I can get out on the water or into the mountains, from the Lake Placid area to more local spots, like the Stone Valley Trails or Lampson Falls.

Favorite restaurant in the North Country: It’s a toss-up between 1844 House and Jake's on the Water.

Tips for incoming first-year students: Be open to new experiences and leave room for spontaneity while being mindful of the fact that four years goes by a lot quicker than you’d expect!
