The SLU String Orchestra presents two performances on Saturday, November 16, at 7:00 p.m. in Pickens Hall, and Sunday, November 17, at 4:00 p.m. in Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall.

The events are free, open to the public, and in-person. Their concert on November 17, at 4:00 p.m., will be live-streamed. Watch the Livestream.

The SLU String Orchestra is excited to present their second 20th Anniversary concert entitled Musicians’ Choice Concert: Celebrating 20 Years! - Part 2! which features a diverse assortment of string orchestra music including Baroque, Classical, Celtic and Film music, all selected by participating musicians of the orchestra from twenty years of past concert programs.  This eclectic concert, under the direction of Christian Hosmer, will feature Baroque music by J.S. Bach and Vivaldi, Classical works by Mozart and Dvořák, film music by John Williams, and several Celtic favorites, concluding with the timeless Ashokan Farewell, by Jay Ungar. The concert runs approximately 70 minutes, and will include an intermission.

The orchestra will perform in the recently renovated Pickens Hall in Heuvelton on Saturday, November 16th at 7pm, and present their home concert on Sunday, November 17th at 4pm, in Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall at the Griffiths Arts Center on the St. Lawrence University campus in Canton.

The 32 musicians of the string orchestra include students and local professionals from Canton, Potsdam, Massena, Antwerp, Philadelphia and Watertown, who rehearse once a week throughout the semester.
