The Campaign for Every Laurentian Stays Focused
To date, Laurentians have given more than $182 million to The Campaign for Every Laurentian. The number of donations exceeds 55,165 from more than 19,159 donors. Since the beginning of the Campaign, these gifts have made a remarkable impact on the students and the University.
Among the reasons we call St. Lawrence home, one of the most important is also the simplest: This place unites us. Here, we learn who we are, what we can do, and that we can do even more together. This must continue, especially now.

Focusing on Diverse Strategies and Competitive Advantages
Strengthening the Endowment and annual giving allows St. Lawrence to stay competitive with financial aid and programming while focusing on the following:
- Need-based Scholarships ensure deserving students, who need financial assistance most, will be afforded a St. Lawrence education.
- Diversity and Inclusion programming enriches critical on-campus programs geared towards fostering diversity, inclusion, and equity.
- Career Focused programming expands opportunities for students, including bolstering internship options and strengthening mentoring and networking programs.
- Health and Wellness programs support the well-being of every student, on campus and abroad.
- The St. Lawrence Fund affords the University the flexibility to put funds towards an area of need that requires the most immediate attention.
Large and Small Gifts to The St. Lawrence Fund Are Cornerstone of Giving
Since July 1, 2015, gifts to the St. Lawrence Fund totaled more than $40 million. It is the cornerstone of Laurentian giving because this fund gives every Laurentian an important role to play in the support of St. Lawrence and it helps fuel our students’ ambitions in real-time during good times and bad.
With this support, St. Lawrence provides critical resources for new and emerging projects, special services, and unique opportunities as they arise. The Fund allows us to invest where money is needed most: student scholarships, learning for the 21st century, the power of connections, and campus enhancements. In the wake of the economic downturn due to the pandemic, gifts to the Fund have a positive and immediate impact on students lives and the institution.
$1.5 Million Estate Gift Strengthens Scholarships
Through the estate of Nancy Mein after her passing and in honor of her father, The Harold Mein Class of 1918 Family Endowed Scholarship Fund has been established to support full-time students pursuing a degree in the sciences or related areas. Harold Andrew Mein was born in Norfolk, New York, in 1896. He was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity at St. Lawrence University. As a result of being called into active duty during World War I, Harold graduated in absentia in 1918. Utilizing the knowledge he had gained as a pre-medical student at St. Lawrence, he served the troops in the psychiatric unit on the USS General W.C. Gorgas in Bordeaux, France, before pursuing a career as a sales executive with Beech-Nut Packing Company in Canajoharie, New York. Nancy has ensured that her father’s legacy will be remembered through the lives of Laurentians changed by this scholarship.
