On May 4th, CIIS welcomed Dr. Eve Stoddard, Professor Emerita in Global Studies, back to campus to be the keynote speaker at the third CIIS Annual Lecture. Dr. Stoddard’s talk “Off-Campus Study: The Value of a Global Perspective” discussed the partnership between academic study on-campus and intercultural learning off-campus, and the importance of critical self-reflection before, during, and after off-campus study.
Dr. Stoddard directed the Center for International and Intercultural Studies from 1994-1999, and was instrumental in the development of the Global Studies department in 2000.
Following the conclusion of Dr. Stoddard’s talk, seniors in the Area Studies departments and the Peace Corps Prep Certificate Program received cords for graduation.
