Each summer, St. Lawrence University offers a dynamic array of courses taught around the world.
Dr. Sue Willson led Laurentians in Ecuador through her Summer 2022 Course “Tropical Ecology and Conservation in Ecuador’s Highlands and the Galapagos.” During this Summer Course, students visited three distinct tropical ecosystems: the high-elevation Andean grasslands, the humid montane cloud forest, and the Galapagos Islands. They learned firsthand from Ecuadorian biologists, environmentally-trained tour guides and community members about the Quechua culture and how Ecuador is being impacted by climate change.
