Five St. Lawrence University students who studied off-campus in 2018 were selected to have their experiences (photos, stories, and written reflections) published in The Aleph: A journal of global perspectives, created by Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Union College.
Brooke Kelly (Fall 2018; Dunedin, New Zealand) describes how she fit into the new environment and her living experiences with her flatmates, as well as her conversations with Kiwi hosts on New Zealand culture and education system. Marion Miller (Fall 2018; Prague, Czech Republic) shares entries from her journal recording her observation of classmates around her, and her travel on the tram throughout Prague. Lilly Bianchi (Fall 2018; Kenya Semester Program) talks about her lessons learned while visiting Jinji, Uganda. Suzie Register (Fall 2018; Rome, Italy) shares a photo of a local soccer player she took in Tuscany, Italy. Aliya Brown (Fall 2018; Kenya Semester Program) shares experiences with her Kenyan host family and culture shocks.
Students from NY6 institutions who have studied abroad are invited to share their perspectives and reflections after their exploration of different cultures and countries, and selected submissions will be published in future editions of The Aleph.
