The Liberal Arts in New York City program offers students the opportunity to develop professional skills, build their resumes, and tap into the nationally recognized Laurentian alumni network. The benefits of this program extend well beyond the end of the semester.
One need look no further than the outcomes for the 2021-2022 participants in this off-campus study program.
Of the fourteen students who spent a semester in New York City this year, three seniors secured full-time positions directly through their internships or the alumni network and will be returning to New York City to work full-time shortly after their graduation. Two students who graduated in December 2021 have also continued to intern in New York City in the positions they held during their off-campus study semester.
Opportunities exist for juniors participating in this off-campus study program as well. Following the conclusion of the Spring 2022 semester, three students will be continuing their internship through the summer before returning to campus before returning to St. Lawrence’s campus for the fall semester.
In addition, three students were able to leverage SLU’s nationally recognized alumni network during their semester in order to receive employment at other organizations.
Planning for the fall 2022 semester has begun—including securing internships for students at Neuberger Berman, a prestigious finance organization, and establishing new and exciting internship partnerships. For more information about the NYC program, visit the St. Lawrence website.
