McNair, CSTEP Scholars Present at Undergrad Research Conf.
St. Lawrence University student researchers enrolled in the New York State Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) and the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program attended the University at Buffalo Undergraduate Research Conference held from July 19 to 21 in Niagara Falls, New York.
Program Director Marsha Sawyer said a highlight of the program was a keynote address presented by St. Lawrence Alumna Elizabeth Colucci ’87, who currently serves on the Alumni Executive Council. Colucci, who is the Director of Fellowships and Scholarships at the State University of New York at Buffalo, spoke to an audience of over 500 scholars from across the United States on the topic of “Nationally Competitive Scholarships and Fellowships: Show Me the Money!” Colucci also serves as a Laurentians Investing in Networking and Careers (LINC) mentor for current St. Lawrence students.
Each of the St. Lawrence CSTEP and McNair scholars in attendance participated in graduate school panel presentations, opportunities to meet with University at Buffalo graduate program faculty, a graduate school fair, and workshops. The scholars also presented their summer research findings.
