On February 1st, 2023 the Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics (MCSS) department held its annual Majors Dinner. Due to Covid-19, it was the first time in four years that the event took place. Approximately 75 students and faculty gathered at Sergi’s Ristorante Italiano & Pizzeria in downtown Canton for an informal evening of sharing information and socializing. Faculty shared information about upcoming conferences, internship and job opportunities, and departmental events.
The majors dinner is an event that the MCSS department at St. Lawrence University holds annually as a way to celebrate our department. Each year the department has one of the highest percentages of graduates among colleges and universities around the U.S. Filled with a strong faculty of teacher-scholar-mentors, the MCSS department offers degrees in mathematics, computer science, statistics, and data science. The department also has a very strong placement rate among graduate schools and industry.
