Associate Professor of Biology Susan Willson's research about ways to make outdoor cats more visible to birds was recently featured by NPR.
The article, “The Killer At Home: House Cats Have More Impact On Local Wildlife Than Wild Predators,” featured Willson's research into how a special brightly-colored collar could be used to help prevent cats from killing birds.
Willson's research into the use of collars designed and manufactured by Birdsafe showed that 87 percent of birds were protected when cats wore the collars. Her research was published by Global Ecology and Conservation.
