Before joining St. Lawrence in 2016, I was not all that fond of the color brown. Blasphemous, I know, but it was not part of my history and held no power over me. That cheeky scarlet is easy to love, but brown is the forever underdog on any palette.
However, after six years of marveling at the exquisite talents of Laurentians everywhere, the color brown now has me completely under its spell—a mixture of every color, warm, complex, and rich in character.
As I depart the role of editor-in-chief to pursue my next professional adventure, it is with reverence and gratitude that I bid you all farewell. My history now holds a rich appreciation for the color brown, the complicated underdog, and its cheeky companion.
