Any student applying for admission to St. Lawrence University will no longer need to pay a $60 application fee, a move that ensures everyone who wishes to apply to St. Lawrence can do so.
“Families continue to face financial hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic and situations beyond their control,” said Florence Hines, vice president for enrollment management and dean of Admissions and Financial Aid. “We take our commitment to creating a diverse and equitable campus very seriously, and this permanent change, which will immediately benefit our applicants, will help St. Lawrence recruit the best and brightest students regardless of financial circumstances.”
St. Lawrence University had 5,201 applicants for the upcoming 2021-22 academic year. The University awarded more than $76 million in scholarships and gift aid to students last year, including nearly $22 million that went to new incoming students.
St. Lawrence has been a leader in reducing barriers to college entry for students. In 2005, the University became test-optional for domestic students and removed the SAT/ACT requirement from the admissions application requirements. Today, St. Lawrence is SAT/ACT optional for all applicants.
St. Lawrence University’s application is now open.
