St. Lawrence University Names Kim Robinson Hissong ’94 as Vice President of University Advancement
St. Lawrence has named Kim Robinson Hissong ’94 its Vice President for University Advancement, President Kathryn A. Morris announced on June 6.
Hissong, who has been leading the division in all fundraising and Laurentian engagement activities on an interim basis since last October, will immediately step into the permanent role.
With an impressive 25-year tenure at St. Lawrence, Hissong's commitment to her alma mater is unwavering. She has been a key leader in the University Advancement office since 2014, most recently serving as Associate Vice President. Her instrumental role in the Campaign For Every Laurentian, which raised $232 million during her tenure, is a testament to her success. She has overseen major gift fundraising, alumni relations, annual giving, advancement operations, and donor relations, demonstrating exceptional relationship-building skills in her work with the Alumni Executive Council.
“Kim's appointment has been met with resounding support from the search committee, trustee leaders, senior staff colleagues, and members of the University Advancement leadership team,” said President Morris. “As an alumna and a dedicated employee, she possesses a deep understanding of St. Lawrence's unique culture and the pivotal role our alumni network plays in our institutional success.”
Hissong’s results-oriented and enthusiastic leadership of the division over the past eight months has put the University on track to meet or surpass fundraising goals by the end of the fiscal year. She also instills a sense of optimism and trust among her colleagues, President Morris added.
Before joining St. Lawrence, Hissong spent four years as the executive director of a non-profit advocacy and counseling organization in Canton, New York, and has served on several non-profit boards and foundations.
