The Patti McGill Peterson Center for International and Intercultural Studies works diligently to provide St. Lawrence University students with over 30 off-campus opportunities in more than 20 countries. After a decline in off-campus study participation due to the Covid-19 pandemic, student excitement for off-campus study has continued to bounce back here at St. Lawrence University, and this is reflected in the rise of St. Lawrence University in the national rankings for participation in study abroad.
The Annual Open Doors Report is created by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and the Institute of International Education, providing comprehensive data on international students studying at higher education institutions in the U.S. and U.S students studying internationally for academic credit.
The 2024 Open Doors Report has recognized St. Lawrence University as tied for 16th in the nation among baccalaureate institutions for participation in semester-length study abroad programs throughout the 2022/2023 academic year. Additionally, St. Lawrence has risen two spots from last year and is among the top 35 baccalaureate institutions nationwide for overall participation in credit-bearing study abroad opportunities of any duration.
We are excited to share this accomplishment and look forward to continuing to support St. Lawrence students as they engage in international education. Learn more about international education and study abroad through the Open Doors Report.
