St. Lawrence students participating in the London Off-Campus Study Program visited the Embassy of Latvia to meet Artūrs Saburovs '10, who is currently serving on the diplomatic staff as Third Secretary responsible for Communications and Diaspora Affairs.
Students enrolled in Dr. Andreas Staab's Economic Integration of the European Union course had a chance to learn how Artūrs' experience at St. Lawrence prepared him for a career in diplomacy. He answered student questions about Latvia's timber industry and how Latvia has benefitted from the European Union's common interest projects. Artūrs also discussed the relationship between Latvia and the United Kingdom and how Latvia has been providing support to Ukrainians in response to the Russian invasion.
