ENVS faculty, Lori Clark, and her Taming Trash class head to facilities that collect and process municipal solid waste, recycling, and organics for composting, anaerobic digestion, and energy production. The students got to see first-hand waste handling and management in the local area which compliments the course lectures, readings, and labs to explore the complexity of managing materials in ways that better support public health and environmental sustainability.
