Mary Jo Faucher Hunt ’76, P’04
As an advocate, facilitator, mentor and coach, Mary Jo Faucher Hunt has donated her time and expertise to a number of organizations, including serving two terms as vice president of the Association of Junior League International, Inc., the Junior League of Buffalo, WNY Women’s Foundation, trustee and chair of the governance committee at Paul Smith’s College, the Child Care Resource Network, former trustee at Nardin Academy, the board of directors at United Way of Erie County, Success by Six, and currently serves as secretary for NY Funders Alliance.
In 1994, she was recognized as a Buffalo 40 Under 40, volunteer of the year in 2004 by the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, and was inducted into the Erie County Women’s Hall of Fame in 2008.
Currently, she is the executive director of the James H. Cummings Foundation and director of career development at Hunt Real Estate. Previously, she served as the executive director of Leadership Buffalo, interim executive director of the Child Care Coalition, and a teacher in Buffalo Public Schools.
Mary Jo graduated from St. Lawrence with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and government, and she earned her master’s degree in elementary education from State University College at Buffalo. She has also completed coursework in executive leadership development at Harvard University and Daemen College.
Being an advocate for St. Lawrence, she has served as a Reunion volunteer, Career Services volunteer, Admissions volunteer, and is a member of the Laurentian Leadership Society, the Manley Society and the Friends of Owen D. Young Library.
Mary Jo is married to Peter Hunt ’75, University Trustee, and they are the parents of St. Lawrence alumna, Emily Hunt Forbes ’04, married to Ed Forbes ’02, current President of the Alumni Executive Council, Charlie (Kelli), Leigh (Jimmy), Farah, and Christina (Sean) Oliver, and have five granddaughters.
