Memories of Frederick Wright Jr.

  • Fred was an outstanding person who took pride in good work and always found ways to make the workplace a better place to be. He managed to get to know most everyone and was always good company. We will miss him.  Chris Watts, Professor of Music
  • I started work here at SLU in 2003 and I started working with Fred in 2005. Fred was a midnight GL and I was Melissa Miller's daytime GL. We both fixed a lot of vacuums, buffers, and extractors...well, you get what I mean. We worked well together and for quite a few years also doing set-ups outside for graduations and commencements. Fred and I were good working partners. Whatever Fred didn't finish working on I tried to get'er done. I was pretty close to Fred and he helped me out quite a bit. I will miss him dearly. I could go on and on but I won't. Thanks Fred. Rest in Peace. You're not suffering no more but just keep watching over your family and I'll say hi to you every morning when I look to the Heavens.  Michael J. Arquitt, Grounds Laborer
