In Memory: Kevin Lazore
Dear Laurentian community,
I write to share the mournful news that Kevin Lazore, who held a skilled trades position here at St. Lawrence, passed away on June 29th.
Kevin started at the University quite recently in May of 2021. In that short time, he distinguished himself as a Laurentian: a diligent worker whose meaningful contributions to this campus also helped strengthen our community.
Before joining St. Lawrence, Kevin had many years of experience in construction, carpentry, and seasonal highway work with St. Lawrence County. He was skilled in general maintenance, and often called upon for his expertise as a woodworker, electrician, and plumber.
A son of the North Country, he grew up in Norfolk, NY and graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School. Kevin enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in New Jersey, Washington State, and Hawaii. Serving as a specialist, he received several commendations.
His family and friends remember how he enjoyed driving his Corvette and having a Tim Horton’s large, double-double coffee in hand. His coworkers recall that Kevin was a genuine person, soft-spoken, and always ready to take on any project with positivity and enthusiasm.
As we mourn the loss of our friend and colleague, we are grateful to Kevin for his service to St. Lawrence and our community. Those who worked closely with him remember his focus and skill. His projects were solid, useful, and finished with the highest quality.
Please join us in celebrating Kevin’s life by sharing your memories of him on the St. Lawrence University website. You can read the remembrances of others here.
Sincerely,
Kate Morris
