Geoffrey Falen
Geoff Falen is the Director of Experiential Learning & Employer Engagement in the Center for Career Excellence, having begun at St. Lawrence as the inaugural Director of Career Connections in 2012. He works with faculty and staff to provide and promote experiential learning opportunities to St. Lawrence students, including teaching credit-bearing internship courses, coordinating funding for student experiential learning, and creating new opportunities for students to gain real-world experience during their undergraduate years.
By academic background and training, he is a language and history nerd (BA in German/History, MA in European History, both from the University of Pennsylvania). By profession and experience, he is a higher education guide, having based his career on providing students the kind of guidance he wanted and often didn’t get in college. Before coming to St. Lawrence, Geoff worked at the University of Pennsylvania, Bryn Mawr College, and Colorado College in a variety of roles, helping liberal arts students and alumni find ways to maximize their potential. When not collaborating with colleagues, or advising and teaching undergraduates, he can likely be found on one of the local disc golf courses or researching family genealogy.
