The formative stage of Lawrence Boyette’s study of vernacular guitar styles took place on the stages of the bars and taverns of eastern North Carolina, and that study continued as a passion while he conducted graduate studies in American History. At St. Lawrence, Boyette has worked with music department ensembles and has taught for many years in the First-Year Program and History Department.
Education: B.A. with honors in History, University of NC, Chapel Hill; M.A. in History, University of Rochester; A.B.D. in History, University of NC, Chapel Hill.
