Liz MacDougall
Director of the Vivarium
Biology Department
I am the Vivarium Director and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I earned two B.A. degrees in Public Relations and Organizational Communications from Marist College, my M.S.T. from SUNY Potsdam and an Associates Degree in Veterinary Science from SUNY Canton before arriving at St. Lawrence. The course I regularly teach is Lab Animals which focuses on government rules and regulations pertaining to research with animals, anesthesia/analgesia, surgery techniques and overall animal care. I lecture in 10-12 labs per year that use research animals in the departments of Biology, Psychology and Neuroscience. I am also a collaborator on all research projects that include animals, especially those through our NIH grants and SYEs.
