My adventure leading up to St. Lawrence has been both a rewarding and challenging one. As an undergraduate student at Daemen College in Amherst, New York, I studied English and my life was taken up by that and my various leadership experiences I am thankful to have been a part of. While at Daemen, I served as a Resident Assistant for 3 years, an Orientation Leader, and I was elected President of our Undergraduate Student Government Association. At Daemen, I worked with some amazing professionals who assisted me in shaping who I wanted to be after I left Daemen.
Upon graduation, I enrolled at Canisius College to get my Master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration. While at Canisius, I worked in the Griff Center for Academic Engagement for 2 years, specifically with Orientation, Career Services, and Academic Advising. I also served as an academic mentor for the two years I was there. Outside of the Griff Center, I had the opportunity to teach a supplemental course for the English 100 program, and I co-taught a first year experience course about Harry Potter and Leadership. During the summer between my 2 years at Canisius, I had the privilege of working at the Rhode Island School of Design as a Pre-College Resident Director. It was this experience in conjunction with my previous RA experience that told me I belong in Residence Life.
I originally joined the St. Lawrence community as a Residential Coordinator for the First-Year Programs. After serving in this role for 3 years, I was promoted to Assistant Director of Residence Life, where I specifically oversee the University's residential education program. Then, in 2023, I was promoted to my current role as the Director of Campus Activities & Residential Engagement where I am charged with overseeing our Community Assistant, First-Year Mentor, and Orientation Leader programs. In my free time, I enjoy playing board games and video games, reading, and writing. I look forward to continuing to work with our students and helping them discover what they want to achieve during and after their St. Lawrence journey just like the professionals in my life did for me.
