Michael Osinski
Michael Osinski is a theatre director, deviser, and producer who likes making and solving puzzles. He is especially interested in finding ways for canonical works to intersect with pop culture to make them less problematic, more culturally relevant, and more appealing to a younger audience.
He is currently the Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre and Performance at St. Lawrence University. Prior to that, he taught courses in acting, directing, theatre appreciation, theatre history, dramatic literature, and world theatre at several universities in the greater Philadelphia area, including Rowan, Temple, and Drexel. He has directed at Arcadia University and Rider University, and he was a member of the core faculty at the National High School Institute at Northwestern University (the "Cherubs" program) for 8 summers.
He was a co-founder and Producing Artistic Director of Flashpoint Theatre Company in Philadelphia. He has also directed or assisted at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, The Old Globe, the Wilma Theater, Azuka Theatre, and EgoPo. He currently maintains his own self-producing collective The Antidote, where he has co-created and directed original works for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and the Philadelphia SoLow Fest.
