Robin Rhodes
Robin holds a doctorate in English Pedagogy/Writing in English Language Specialization, M.S.Ed in Educational Design, Training, and Development, New York State K-12 English as a Second Language teaching certification, and 7-12 English Language Arts teaching certification. Dr. Rhodes teaches academic ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), TESOL teacher education/methods, and African Studies courses. Robin is also the program coordinator for the Peace Corps Prep Program. In addition to being housed in World Languages, Cultures, and Media, Robin is also part of the African Studies Program.
Dr. Rhodes also regularly travels to China, Rwanda, and Kenya to train teachers and work with students. She is also on the Africa English Language Teaching Association editorial board and has worked locally to write lesson plans for NYS Department of Health for local migrant farm workers. Robin regularly travels to present at national and international conferences and frequently publishes in various texts and journals. Robin specializes in linguistically and culturally sustaining English pedagogy, teacher training and English instruction abroad, and language and education in Kenya and Rwanda.
