Shu Jiang
I was born and raised in Huzhou, China. My academic journey began at Xi’an Physical Education University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology, focusing on Sport Psychology. I moved to Springfield, Massachusetts upon graduation. At Springfield College, I had the privilege to work closely with student athletes, and I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, with a concentration in Athletic Counseling. My growing intrigue for language and culture steered me towards the University of Connecticut. UConn provided the platform for me to complete my doctoral training in Social Psychology and Quantitative Research Methods. Using quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches, my research explores how individuals experience, express, and perceive the complex socio-cultural environment and the subsequent implications on their health and well-being. Beyond my academic pursuits, I’m an avid hiker and painter, with a deep appreciation for theater and museums.
