Dr. Xinxin Cao is a visiting Assistant Professor of Economics. He received a Ph.D. in Economics and a M.S. in Economics from The George Washington University. As an applied microeconomist, Xinxin specializes in urban economics and environmental economics. His current research focuses on how docked bikeshare systems affect both public transit use and the interaction between public transit and house prices. He is also actively participating in a study that assesses the effectiveness of an undergraduate math remedial course in improving math skills and introductory microeconomics course performance. At St. Lawrence University, Xinxin teaches Quantitative Methods. His goal as an economics instructor is to help students develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills that enable them to solve real-world problems.
