Throughout this week, Health Services will host walk-in COVID-19 testing clinics for symptomatic students or students with a recent known COVID-19 exposure. Clinics will be held Monday, Nov. 29, through Friday, Dec. 3, from 8:30 -11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Diana B. Torrey '82 Health and Counseling Center. These clinics are in addition to the University's weekly testing clinics, which are held for unvaccinated campus community members and also open to any asymptomatic student, faculty, and staff member. Weekly testing clinics take place Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in Eben Holden. |

World Topic Series: COVID-19 in the World - Students' Experiences- Zoom Each semester, the Center for International and Intercultural Studies partners with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to offer an engaging speaker series on timely, global topics. Students share how COVID-19 impacted their study abroad experiences. |
Native American Social Dance- Eben Holden St. Lawrence's Native American Student Alliance (NASA) presents 'The Native North American Traveling College: A Public Dance Event.' NNATC will host an interactive social dance, and they will also have crafts for sale. Masks are required. |
“Veladas Culturales” - LBGTQ+, Queer/Cuir Poetry- Winston Room, Sullivan Student Center The Caribbean, Latin American, and Latino Studies Department is hosting an event to bring awareness to the current AIDS pandemic affecting minorities, BIPOC, and countries from the Global South. Read and/or listen to poetry to remember those who passed away due to AIDS. Readings will be in Spanish and English. |
Gallery Talk with Akwesasne Mohawk Artist Iakonikonriiosta- Richard F. Brush Art Gallery Akwesasne Mohawk quilt artist Iakonikonriiosta will discuss her recent quilt, Tsi Kiontahsawen / In the Beginning, depicting the Haudenosaunee Creation Story, the quilt Tewasennahawi/We Carry Our Names, about Mohawk Identity, and the innovative sewing techniques employed in the quilt’s construction. This event is free and open to the public. |
The Laurentian Singers Carol Concert- Gunnison Memorial Chapel The Laurentian Singers invite the St. Lawrence and North Country communities to join them in singing carols and songs for the season. This in-person event is free, open to the public, and available via live stream. |
The SLU String Orchestra Presents Peace: Music for Reflection- Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall The St. Lawrence String Orchestra, directed by Christian Hosmer, will perform well-known classic works by Bach, Mozart, and Pachelbel, with newer repertoire by Eric Whitacre and Jay Ungar, and eclectic film, musical, and Celtic favorites. Wind Ensemble Live and In-Person Crossing Barriers Concert- Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall The St. Lawrence Wind Ensemble, directed by Theresa Witmer, will perform a variety of music from the southern shores of New Zealand, the Caribbean, Argentina, the British Isles, and more. This in-person event is free, open to the public, and available via live stream. |

NCAA Personal Bests for Men's XC; Winter Sports ContinueThe Saints had much to celebrate the first weekend of break! Three members of the men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, where Jackson Hamilton ’23 and George Gowdy ’23 each set personal best times. The women’s basketball team defeated SUNY Plattsburgh 83-41, Williams College 65-64, and Hamilton 72-68, while the men's squad beat SUNY Plattsburgh 85-70 and SUNY Potsdam 70-61. The riding team won its second home show of the year at the St. Lawrence Show. The wins continued at the outset of break with Men’s Squash defeating both Haverford and Middlebury 8-1 and Women’s Squash sweeping Haverford 9-0, while Women’s Ice Hockey beat Brown 2-1 and RIT 5-1 and Men’s Ice Hockey secured a 6-4 win over Princeton.
